Do you have a BMW with a N47 engine? Then this is good to know!
This engine has advantages (low fuel consumption, high power, etc.) but also disadvantages:
The distribution fails at short intervals of km run, in the most recent case the car made 3 oil changes and at 105,000 km it’s distribution failed.
Example: 10km run on the freeway are carried out in about 6min, 10km in the city are carried out in about 60min or more at rush hour, the wear being 10 times higher. So those 30,000km turn into 60,000km.
R2MAX Jimbolia recommends:
Replacing engine oil at 10,000-15,000km intervals and replacing the timing kit (approx. 150,000km).
